Sing praises to the Most High! Psalms 100:1-2
Worship music is one of my favorite ways to praise Yahshua and keep Him on my mind throughout the day. Even before I made bible reading a daily habit, I would always have worship songs on my playlist ready to go whenever I wanted to meditate on His goodness! As I grew in my reading of the Word, I would often pause when coming across a verse or phrase that, although I had not it seen before, I was very familiar with it. Then it would dawn on me: “That was in so-and-so’s worship song!” I adored finding the bible verses that inspired these songs, just as I do finding verses that serve as themes of many books, movies, and more! It is so important for us to stay aware of whether or not the worship songs that we listen to have a biblical basis.
Here are some songs that I love with the verses to match:
"Friend of God" by Israel Houghton - John 15:15
"He’s Able" by Deitrick Haddon and Voices of Unity - Ephesians 3:20-21
"I'm Getting Ready" by Tasha Cobbs ft. Nikki Minaj - 1 Corinthians 2:9
"Psalm 42" by Tori Kelly- Psalm 42:1
"We Worship You" by Israel Houghton ft. Nicole Binion - Psalm 106:1; 1 Chronicles 16:34
"Your Spirit" by Tasha Cobbs ft. Kierra Sheard - Zechariah 4:6
"God is Great" by Ricky Dillard - Psalm 145:3
"No Weapon" by Fred Hammond & Radical for Christ - Isaiah 54:17
Tip: Set the tone for your day by listening to worship music early in the morning!
